LeftCoastArt showcases artists, writers, curators, and exhibitions with a focus on the local while celebrating artistic production in all its forms. We are interested in providing a platform for a range of practices and sensibilities with an eye toward poesis, the political, the overlooked, and the emergent.
Randy Lee Cutler is a Vancouver based writer, artist and educator. She contributes essays to catalogues and art magazines while maintaining an experimental relationship to pedagogy, gardening and embodiment. She is an associate professor at Emily Carr University in the Faculty of Visual Art + Material Practice. Open Wide: An Abecedarium for the Great Digestive System, her ebook on digestion as a metaphor for experience is now available on iTunes.
Marina Roy is a Vancouver-based artist and writer, and associate professor in visual art at the University of British Columbia. In 2001 she published sign after the x (Artspeak/Arsenal Pulp Press). She is currently finishing a book project titled Queuejumping.
Christine D'Onofrio is a visual artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has exhibited her work across Canada, and is currently teaching studio courses at University of British Columbia, Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory.
Ariane Noël de Tilly earned her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Amsterdam in 2011 and was a Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow in the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory at the University of British Columbia from 2011 to 2013. Ariane’s teaching and research focus is 20th- and 21st-century art, exhibition studies, and museum studies. She is Sessional Faculty at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
